Gichner Systems Group, Inc., a world leader in the design and development of tactical military shelters, announced today that it has been awarded a contract for the production of 48 Single Side Army Standard Family Expandable Shelters.
The award calls for the production of 28 Single Side 60 AMP Expandable Shelters and 20 Single side 100 AMP Expandable Shelters, for a total contract value of $8.2 million. The Army Standard Family Expandable Shelter is designed to allow for a maximum operating volume, while maintaining standard ISO dimensional requirements during transportation and storage modes, thus allowing for transport using all common intermodal transport methods. These shelters are used by the Army for multiple purposes including repair and maintenance facilities, communications systems, command posts, hospitals, and kitchens.
Work is to be performed in Dallastown, Pa., with an estimated completion date of July 15, 2010.
